Dear Friends and Family,

This August, I am excited to once again participate in the NYC Triathlon. As many of you know, I’ve done this event many times, and it certainly is one of my favorites.

This year, however, I will be running, biking, and swimming to raise money for Shaare Zedek Medical Center, located in Jerusalem, Israel. This place holds a very special meaning to our family: Shaare Zedek was very important to Nina’s grandparents, Lotte and Ludwig Bachrach. Over many decades, they raised funds that helped make Shaare Zedek into a vital medical center that provides Israel and all its citizens with top notch medical care. Just like Lotte and Ludwig, I’d like to make a difference.

Shaare Zedek Medical Center treats more than 500,000 patients each year, including more than 43,000 children! The Hospital delivers over 21,000 babies, which is more than triple the number of babies born in most US hospitals. Currently, Shaare Zedek is known for its expertise in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Surgery, Genetics, Pulmonology, and Oncology in addition to Emergency Medicine where it has played a lead role in saving lives in Israel as well as in the Philippines, Japan and Haiti.

Donations of any amount are appreciated. All funds collected will help purchase equipment for the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Next Generation Children’s Hospital at Shaare Zedek which will open 2014. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Thank you for supporting me, and in doing so, helping thousands of patients at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Love, Paul
