Lily Swidler is celebrating her Bat Mitzvah with a plan to donate 100% of her gifts to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem to benefit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and to raise money for a Giraffe Incubator.
More than 750,000 patients receive care each year at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, including 65,000 children. Among them are more than 22,000 babies who are delivered at the Hospital each year! That is among the largest number of annual deliveries at any hospital in the world. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has 70 beds, placing it among the largest such facilities anywhere. Shaare Zedek is a Level-One Trauma Center known for its expertise in emergency care; its Emergency Room is ranked number one in Israel. The Helmsley Neurological Center, also a recent addition at Shaare Zedek, includes a new Stroke Unit for the Jerusalem metropolitan area, and state-of-the-art departments of neurosurgery, neuroradiology, and a neurological intensive care unit. A new Cancer Radiotherapy Institute is under construction — a project that also includes underground parking for 800 cars. This is phase one of a plan to construct a comprehensive cancer center at Shaare Zedek.
Thank you for helping celebrate Lily’s Bat Mitzvah!
