To my friends and family,
This year on Sunday November 2nd, I will run the TCS New York City Marathon in support of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Each year, the Shaare Zedek Medical Center treats over 1.2 million people, delivers more than 20,000 babies, and acts as Jerusalem’s most active Trauma and Emergency Center. In the past two years, they have opened an Innovation Hub, which funds and brainstorms projects with healthcare start-ups, as well as a comprehensive Cancer Center, which houses radiotherapy, counseling, spiritual and palliative oncological services under one roof. The Hospital with a Heart serves the needs of a vibrant and significant community yet they mostly rely on funds from non-government donors. Your donation would contribute towards purchasing new medical equipment, and helping to build new facilities.
This organization came as a blessing, allowing me to run and fundraise for an Israeli health center before I leave the city for medical school. My mother and relatives have taught me to not idly sit by while our fellow Jews suffer in Israel. For decades, my uncle Miki lived as an artist in Israel. My aunt and uncle founded an organization to educate, heal, and reconcile the memories of the Holocaust among Jewish descendents. On the medical side, my cousin and great-grandfather have served as leading Ob/Gyns in America and Hungary. As an oncology researcher in a significantly Jewish city, and future doctor, I also hope to live a purpose that heals vulnerable populations.
If you cannot donate, share this link or encourage the runners in person on November 2nd. Thank you for helping the patients of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
