The “Jack and Candee Klein Comprehensive Breast Health Complex” was dedicated on Tuesday, November 4 at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.  The Center provides an all-encompassing approach to breast health issues.

Jack Klein’s late-wife Elisa passed away from breast cancer. At a gala event the Northwest Region of The American Committee for Shaare Zedek Medical Center honored Jack and his wife Candee Klein on October 26, when they were inducted as “Healers of Jerusalem” in recognition of their leading roles in supporting and advancing care at Shaare Zedek.  Jack said, “My dream has always been to be somebody who can give back and the Breast Health Complex has allowed me to do this.”

Director General Prof. Jonathan Halevy describes the Jack and Candee Klein Comprehensive Breast Health Complex as bringing together the central components of breast cancer care, prevention and identification through genetics under Prof. Ephrat Levy Lahad; diagnosis through advanced screening techniques under Dr. Shalom Strano; surgical treatment in the Breast Surgery Unit under Dr. Moshe Carmon and medical treatment in the Oncology Institute under Prof. Alberto Gabizon. “Through these four pillars we are able to provide women with the best chance to overcome this disease.”

The Complex’s services also include the NOGA program, directed by Dr. Pnina Mor, which supports and advises women with high genetic risk for breast cancer. Shaare Zedek Medical Center is the leading breast health center in the Jerusalem area, treating over 65% of cases of breast cancer.

Dr. Shalom Strano, who is renowned as one of Israel’s premier breast cancer diagnostic experts explains, “Shaare Zedek practices the concept of one-stop breast care to the benefit of our patients. Women who require a mammogram or biopsy can have everything taken care of in one visit- without the need for additional referrals or having to go back and forth to their insurance company. This ensures that patients receive a world class standard of care all under one roof.” For more information please watch this video, or call, 02-5645100.
