During the summer of 2019, I lived in Tel Aviv and attended classes at IDC Herzliya. Most evenings were marked by long runs along the beach from my apartment on Bograshov Street to the Jaffa lighthouse and back.
While I am in California, finishing my Master’s Degree, running has been my solace, affording me time to reflect on the men and women from all over the world defending the Jewish state. I am eternally grateful for their sacrifice and commitment, and I aspire to support those who protect the Jewish nation.
On November 3, I will be running the NYC Marathon, and my goal is to raise $5,000 to benefit Shaare Zedek Medical Center, the largest hospital in the center of Jerusalem.
To date, Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem has treated about 700 soldiers and over 400 more in their mental health emergency unit. They are treating soldiers evacuated directly from the south who arrive via helicopter to the adjacent athletic field and are immediately transferred to the Trauma Unit. There is a remarkable sense of dedication in treating these patients and we can all feel a great sense of pride in Shaare Zedek’s place in the war effort.
The hospital treats more than 1 Million patients each year, including more than 100,000 children! Shaare Zedek delivers more than 22,000 babies a year, which is triple the number of babies born in most hospitals.
Your contribution in support of my run and Shaare Zedek will ensure the treatment of those who need medical attention and will help support our Jewish state.
