Isaac Schertz, a resident of Woodmere, NY, is a dedicated senior at Cooper Union, where he is pursuing a degree in electrical engineering. He first became involved with Shaare Zedek as cochairman of the Shaare Zedek college board. While in Jerusalem, he spent two years immersed in Torah study at Yeshivat Netiv Aryeh and led efforts to visit and support the elderly in his community.
Isaac’s passion for helping others extends to his involvement with HASC, where he supports individuals with special needs, and the Ellie Ruby Foundation, aiding families battling pediatric cancer. His warm and outgoing personality has inspired many of his peers to join him in supporting Shaare Zedek, including participating in the Bowl-A-Thon event. During a visit to Israel, Isaac toured Shaare Zedek including the new Helmsley Cancer Center, the underground
Emergency ICU and the ER Dept. He spent time with patients, learned about the hospital’s operations, including the Children’s pet therapy area, all of which has strengthened his connection to the Hospital.
