Samantha Meisels and Zachary Perl served as co-chairs of the Shaare Zedek Medical Center College Board in 2015-2016. Thanks to their leadership, the 2016 College Bowl-a-thon had more than 300 students in attendance and raised more than $100,000 to dedicate two nurseries with 28 cribs at Shaare Zedek.

Samantha grew up in New Rochelle and graduated from Barnard College in May 2017. She now works at Northwell Health in Great Neck as an associate in financial operations and management. Samantha’s outstanding leadership and managerial skills proved invaluable during her year co-chairing the College Board. Her positive, can-do attitude and warm personality encouraged others to get involved and to work together for Shaare Zedek. We thank Samantha for all her hard work, determination and outstanding efforts and wish her a mazal tov on her upcoming wedding to Akiva Katz.

Originally from Teaneck, N.J., Zack spent his year abroad learning at Yeshivat Reishit Yerushalayim and studied finance in the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University, where he was also captain of the baseball team. Zack is currently in his second year at RCR Management and looks forward to continuing to work on behalf of Shaare Zedek. He began his involvement with the Hospital by attending the College Bowl-a-thon for three consecutive years before stepping up to co-chair the College Board. He distinguished himself as an exceptional leader, displaying a calm, flexible and practical demeanor. Following the Bowl-a-thon, Zack continued to show his commitment and dedication by joining Team Shaare Zedek to run in the 2016 TCS NYC Marathon. We are most proud of Zack, who raised more than $2,500 for his run in the NYC Marathon. We wish Zack a mazal tov on his recent marriage to Sarah Mandelbaum.

It is an honor to present Samantha and Zack with the Chesed Leadership Award in recognition of their enthusiasm and devotion on behalf of Shaare Zedek.
