As many of you know I have been an avid runner for about 15 years. In December 2019 I got more serious about my running by entering a formal half marathon in Central Park, which I finished in under two hours. In April 2022 I completed another half marathon in Flushing, also finishing in under 2 hours. I have always thought about participating and experiencing the NYC marathon. Having turned 40 in December 2021, I decided it is “now or never”.
I am excited to be running with Team Shaare Zedek in the TCS New York City Marathon on Nov. 6, 2022. I have a strong personal connection to Shaare Zedek Medical Center. My beloved parents, Alicia and Leon Isaacson, of blessed memory received much of their end of life care during their later years at Shaare Zedek in Jerusalem. I look back fondly at the time I spent there, mostly with my mother during her final days. The doctors were so supportive, the facilities very accommodating, with three daily minyanim, food and a place for me to rest. Shaare Zedek will always have a special place in my heart.
My run will support the new Cancer Center being built now at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
