The Shaare Zedek College Board is focusing on helping to save the lives of babies in Israel.
We need your help to dedicate a Neonatal Respirator to the new Huberfeld Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
The largest and most advanced unit of its kind, Shaare Zedek’s NICU accommodates 72 infants at any given time. In addition to those born at Shaare Zedek, babies are referred to Shaare Zedek from other hospitals throughout Israel, due to our reputation for excellence in caring for premature infants with life-threatening issues.
The respirator we will dedicate will help keep premature babies alive by distributing air directly into their lungs, as well as monitoring each baby’s breathing progression via computer to ensure an adequate amount of oxygen. Shaare Zedek now has 27 respirators, but needs more in order to save all the babies in our NICU every day!
As a private hospital, Shaare Zedek does not receive any government funding and students from all over the United States and Canada have joined to create Shaare Zedek’s diverse College Board to raise the necessary funds.
We truly appreciate your donation in helping us reach our goal of $80,000 for a Neonatal Respirator.
