On Monday, September 15, the Ben-Gurion University PREPARED Center for Emergency Response Research, recognized as a center of excellence in disaster management, both locally and globally, brought a group of 20 professionals from the Office for Health Emergency Management of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning to Shaare Zedek for several sessions with members of the staff as well as a chemical warfare drill.

One of the participants said, “We have been talking about many different aspects of emergency management during our trip to Israel, but the staff here at Shaare Zedek shared with us how to develop and organize our disaster management plans and how to use existing areas in the hospital in different ways to meet the specific demands of extreme situations. While I hope we never need to use the training we are receiving, I feel much more prepared.”
